Our Story
Kente Kingdom was founded by Master Weaver Kwame Asante, who learned the art from his grandfather in Bonwire, the birthplace of kente weaving. Every piece tells the story of Ghanaian royalty, tradition, and craftsmanship passed down through generations.
About the Founder β Kwame Asante
I began weaving at age 7 beside my grandfather. After studying at the Kumasi College of Art, I returned to Bonwire to preserve and modernize this ancient craft while creating jobs for 45 local weavers.
